Érico M. M. Flores has a permanent position at Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM, Brazil), performing research and teaching activities. He was the Director of Analytical Chemistry Division of Brazilian Chemical Society and he has experience in ultrasound and microwave applications and in the development of methods for sample preparation, speciation analysis and quality control of pharmaceutical and other industrial products using atomic spectrometry.
He has published more than 460 peer reviewed international papers, h index 70 (Google Scholar), and several patents, books and book chapters in these fields and developed a new system of microwave induced combustion (MIC) that is commercialized in many countries. Nowadays, he is a member of National Advisory Council of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry, titular member of National Deliberative Council of Brazilian Pharmacopoea, Superior Council of FAPERGS (Foundation of Rio Grande do Sul State for Research Support, Brazil), member of European Society of Sonochemistry, Executive Editor of Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Associate Member of Analytical Chemistry Division of IUPAC.
